Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve announced today the construction of a new environmental center. The 18,000 square-foot facility, with an estimated cost of $4 million, is set to be completed in 2017, pending approval by the Town of Grand Chute.

A part of our community for more than 45 years, Bubolz Nature Preserve is dedicated to developing a sound environmental ethic in persons of all ages through education, recreation and conservation, while promoting a strong sense of overall wellness and appreciation of nature. The ever-popular preserve has experienced a steady increase in visitors over the past years.

“This new facility will allow us to offer even more to our community,” said Randy Tuma, executive director of Bubolz. “Visits and field trips will be enhanced with   new gift and coffee shops, a nature nook library, additional educational areas and rental spaces for events like weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats and teambuilding.”

The building is estimated to be completed in 2017 and Bubolz will remain open to the public during construction.

Support from community partners such as the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Faith Technologies, Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau, Kimberly-Clark, SECURA and Thrivent has allowed this long-planned project to move forward.
