1st Annual Biker's Benefit For Bubolz

June 1st 8-2

Sponsored by Tanners Grill & Home Tavern Grill

Take a ride on the wild side in support of environmental education & outdoor recreation! Registration from 8-9am. Ride leaves at 9am sharp! Bike tour, cook-out, games, and raffles. Lunch served at 12:30pm Games and Raffle to follow.

Cost: Pre-registered: $20-Single Biker & $15-Rider

Reptile Fest

June 15th

11am-2pm

Join the Fox Valley Herp Club at the Bubolz Nature Preserve to learn about snakes, lizards, turtles, and other reptiles and amphibians. Club members will be on hand with an assortment of live animals to give people the opportunity to learn more about these fascinating animals up close and personal.

Stop in!

Art In Nature Summer Day Camps

July 30-August 1

Tuesday July 30th- Critter Catching- What's Living in our pond water? Using dip nets and magnifiers, kids will explore the life of the ponds.

Critter Catching is always fun & hands on!

Kids will use their artistic design to create "Gyataku" (fish painting) T-shirts. Please list your T-shirt size on registration form

$15/Session

or $40 for all 3 Days

Programs are designed for ages 5-12. Younger kids are welcome with an older sibling or parent.

Wednesday July 31st- Trees Please!

"I Speak for the Trees!

Create a walking stick from invasive buckthorn. Take a hike to discover what's living in the trees! Discover woodpecker signs, animal homes, and bark beetles. Kids will use their artistic design to create a "Leaf Printed" bandana.

August 1st- Culture Day-Kids will use their artistic & musical talents to create a "Rain Stick". Rain sticks are ceremonial musical instruments that are used to call upon the rain spirits. Kids will play Native American games that were used to improve their suvival skills. Catch all your bad dreams by creating a "Dream Catcher" during Culture Day!

November 10th-16th

Shop at the Learning Shop and mention that you would like your purchase to go towards the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve! The preserve will receive 10% of your purchase in the form of a donation from the Learning Shop! Just in time for X-mas presents! All proceeds will benefit the Preserves Summer Day Camps! Your help is greatly appreciated!

Providing public programs here at Bubolz Nature preserve works to fulfill our mission to provide educational and recreational opportunities to people of all ages. You will find that our programs will target a wide age range as well as a wide interest range . The programs are designed to help you make a closer connection to the property as well as nature in general. GPS Backpack: Complete with GPS unit, Map, Games, and a list of hidden Caches, this is a great afternoon activity for the whole crew!

 

Back packs are free to use for members of the preserve and $2 for non-members, you will be asked to leave a driver license with staff, available only when building is open.
