Early bird registration for Bubolz Nature Preserve members and previous campers will be open January 3 – 31. Registration will open to the public beginning on February 1, 2020.
We offer camps for children ages 4-14
• Summer Camp sessions for our Sprouts (ages 4-6) are available in morning and afternoon sessions. Children are welcome to sign up for both sessions and attend for the full day or just sign up for a half day
• Summer Camp sessions for our Saplings (ages 7-9) and Mighty Oaks (ages 10-14) are full day sessions running from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Members and 2019 Campers will receive 15% off of the regular camp prices listed below now – January 31. Contact Erica @firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
Sprouts (ages 4 to 6) — Half Day – $60 per week (am or pm) or Full Day – $105 per week
Saplings (ages 7 to 9) — Full Day – $105 per week
Mighty Oaks (ages 10 to 14) — Full Day – $130 per week
Mighty Oaks (ages 10 to 14) — Full Day with Overnight – $150 per week
June 9-11, 2020 | Morning Session: 9:00-11:30 am
The magic and mystery of the forests, ponds, and prairies will take campers on an adventure like no other. Nature will cast its spell and our imaginations will explore all the wonders the natural world has to offer.
June 9-11, 2020 | Afternoon Session: 12:30-3:00 pm
Campers will become aquatic adventurers and learn about water in many different aspects of our biggest necessity, water! We will explore the ponds at Bubolz, play games, and create crafts.
June 30-July 2, 2020 | Morning Session: 9:00-11:30 am
Pollinators are more powerful then we think, we need them for almost every food that we eat! Campers will discover the different pollinators that call Bubolz home, go on a search for them, and learn why they are so important.
June 30-July 2, 2020 | Afternoon Session: 12:30-3:00 pm
Campers will put their five senses to the test, exploring the preserve like never before. We will adventure to the prairies, ponds, and forests playing games, completing crafts, and discovering the beautiful world around us.
July 21-23, 2020 | Morning Session: 9:00-11:30 am
Back by popular demand and based on the TV show, Wild Kratts, campers will put on their super suits and explore the super powers of the wild animals that call Bubolz home. Each day we will be on the lookout for these incredible animals and their creature powers that make them unique and help them to survive.
July 21-23, 2020 | Afternoon Session: 12:30-3:00 pm
Campers will expand their creativity in this art based camp. We will find art in nature and create our own masterpieces out of objects found in the great outdoors and use the beauty of the preserve as our inspiration.
August 11-13, 2020 | Morning Session: 9:00-11:30 am
This camp is all about the ooey goey! Campers will investigate the muddy areas of Bubolz, looking for creatures that call these places their home, making some of their own muddy discoveries along the way.
August 11-13, 2020 | Afternoon Session: 12:30-3:00 pm
Homes come in all shapes and sizes. During this week, campers will go on a search for animal homes throughout Bubolz, exploring the ponds, prairies, forests, and even building their own animal homes using their creativity and imagination.
June 16-18, 2020 | 9:00 am-3:00 pm
Using nature as their muse, campers will create their very own masterpiece! We will learn about different forms of art found in nature, how we can use nature as our canvas, and explore unique natural spaces.
July 7-9, 2020 | 9:00 am-3:00 pm
What does it take to survive the great outdoors? During this week, campers will learn several outdoor skills including shelter and fire building, just to name a few. If you want to learn the skills for an ultimate adventure, this camp is for you!
July 28-30, 2020 | 9:00 am-3:00 pm
Campers will roll up their sleeves as they become grossologists, studying all things ooey goey throughout the preserve. We will turn over logs, dig in the mud, and go pond dipping searching for creepy crawlies such as worms, tadpoles, frogs, and insects, learning about their unique adaptations throughout the week.

Building with Nature
Are you ready for a challenge like no other? During this week, campers will only use raw materials from nature to build shelters, rafts, bridges, toys, and so much more. Based on natural resources and sustainability, this STEM camp is an exciting addition to our summer programs.
June 23-25, 2020 | 9:00 am-3:00 pm
During this week campers will get a chance to experience a variety of outdoor activities including archery, fishing, and orienteering. We will learn about the different habitats that make up the preserve: prairie, wetland, and forest, and how these habitats may be helpful in any outdoor situation. Basic knife skills and how to safely handle them is also included in this camp.

Surviving the Outdoors w/ Overnight
This camp is for ultimate adventure seeker! Campers will spend time building shelters, learning different ways to start fires and cook over that fire, and basic first aid and safety skills. And on the final day, campers will end with an overnight stay in their handmade shelters, sleeping under the stars.
August 4-6, 2020 | 9:00 am-3:00 pm
Ecology and Technology
Campers will use different forms of technology to learn about ecology. We will go geocaching using a handheld GPS, do a photo scavenger hunt, and complete experiments throughout the week learning how we can help the planet along the way.
