Richard Louv to speak at Earth Day Festival

Bubolz Nature Preserve announced Richard Louv will speak at it’s Grand Opening Celebration and Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 22, 2018.

Richard Louv is a journalist and author of nine books, including Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit DisorderThe Nature Principle: Reconnecting with Life in a Virtual Age, and most recently Vitamin N: The Essential Guide to a Nature-Rich Life: 500 Ways to Enrich Your Family’s Health & Happiness. His books have been translated into 13 languages and published in 17 countries, and helped launch an international movement to connect children and their families to nature.  Louv is being sponsored by a grant from the Bright Idea Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.  More information on Louv can be found at http://richardlouv.com/

The Earth Day Festival is a family fun and educational event featuring over 50 hands-on activities, entertainment and a special appearance by PBS Kids Character Nature Cat.  Richard Louv will speak at 2pm on “What is Nature Deficit Disorder and how can the Fox Cities tackle this problem”. The event runs from 10am – 3pm and is free to the public.
