Kickoff the Summer by Celebrating the Summer Solstice with your family! This event will include various educational pieces such as catching insects at the prairie and pond, as well as tables and presentations from local Wildlife groups. Join us as we learn about the animals that call Bubolz their home. We will explore pelts and skulls of mammals and go for a hike throughout the different habitats searching for homes along the way. We will even make a small animal home and put our skills to the test.
Age Level: 8-12

January 18th, 2025 | 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Meet Jim Feyen and his dogs from the Siberian Outpost. Jim will start out the program inside with a presentation about the history of dog sledding and what it takes to run a kennel and a dog sled team. If conditions permit, he may do a short run with the dogs. Finally, participants will be able to meet the dogs and ask any questions.
There will be NO RIDES.
Cost: $10 a person (4 and under free)
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration opens November 12th at 12 am.

The Winnebago Audubon Society will be here to discuss Wisconsin birds and how our local habitat affects the type of birds that migrate to our area. They will also go over birdwatching tips and tricks including how to use field guides, apps, and general bird id. We will then go out on a hike searching for birds and other flora and fauna.
We have a limited supply of binoculars, but please bring your own if you have them.
Cost: $5 a person.

Join us for an evening at the preserve. We will learn about the frogs and toads found here with an indoor presentation. Then we will go pond dipping in search of frogs, tadpoles, and water insects. Each program date includes the same activities. Sprouts (Ages 4-6) Birds, Bees, and Butterflies are some of the few pollinators that call Bubolz home. Pollinators are more powerful then we think, we need them for almost every food that we eat! Campers will go on an exploration searching for these creatures and learn why they are so important.
