Join us for a morning insect hunt. Scouts will explore the prairie and ponds in search of late season insects. They will learn about life cycles, parts of the insect, and some of the more common ones found at the Preserve. Wear shoes or boots that can wet or muddy. This adventure will cover requirements in the Bug Badge.

Max: 25 scouts (1 or 2 adults per troop)

Go for a hike at the preserve while recording wildlife and play a leave no trace game. This program will cover requirements for the Eco Camper Badge.

Cost: $8/Scout or sibling
Learn how to treat outdoor spaces with kindness and respect as you complete this badge! Complete an Eco Hike, learn about the leave no trace principals and how to respect wildlife, and discover different ways to be kind to others while you are in the outdoors. Finish the program by learning how to build a safe campfire. This program will cover requirements for the Eco Friend Badge.

We will be hosting two family-friendly events on this day. Please make sure to register for either or both events you would like to attend. One of the events is our breakfast with a short guided tour. The other is our Adopt-A-Bucket experience.
Read MoreBrew Ski at Bubolz will take place on Friday, Feb, 10, bringing together snow, craft beer, wine, and cocktails! With fun on tap from 5 pm-8:30 pm, participants will kick off their Brew Ski experience out on the Preserve’s 1 mile snowshoe or 1.5 mile ski trail illuminated by candles and moonlight. Warm up in the Lodge inside the Bubolz Nature Center where you will sample beers, wines and cocktails and warm food!
This event is designed for ages 21 and over.

Read MoreDue to the lack of snow this program has been rescheduled. Scouts will go on a snowshoe adventure. They will learn a little about how they work, collect the proper gear, practice a bit, and then go out on the trails. This program is weather dependent as we need a specific amount of snow.
