Please register as a troop unless you are attending without your troop. Payment must accompany all registrations. Space is limited and will not be held without payment. Badges are not provided unless indicated on the website. Badges can be purchased through the Girl Scout Office. There are no refunds for cancellations; substitutes are permitted. Refunds will be issued for programs cancelled by Bubolz due to low registration.

Most programs are designed for troop levels in mind to meet certain badge requirements. Certain programs like maple syrup and night hike are for any troop level.

Insects

Join us for an evening insect hunt. Scouts will explore the prairie and ponds in search of late season insects. They will learn about life cycles, parts of the insect, and some of the more common ones found at the Preserve. Wear shoes or boots that can wet or muddy. This adventure will cover requirements in the Bug Badge.

Night Hike

Come and explore the nature preserve in a whole new way. Discover the sights, sounds, and beauty of nature at night as we go for a hike through our prairies and forests. Please no light up shoes or flashlights.

Outdoor Art

From a blue sky to a bird’s song to a white cedar forest, nature can give you lots of ideas for art! Join us
as we explore the outdoors and use what we see, hear, and feel to create an art project. This adventure will cover requirements in the Daisy Outdoor Art Maker Badge and Brownie Outdoor Art Creator Badge.

Eco Friend

Learn how to treat outdoor spaces with kindness and respect as you complete this badge! Complete an Eco Hike, learn about the leave no trace principals and how to respect wildlife, and discover different ways to be kind to others while you are in the outdoors. Finish the program by learning how to build a safe campfire. This program will cover requirements for the Eco Friend Badge.

Eco Camper

Come to Bubolz and learn how to respect nature and protect the environment while on a future camping trip. Learn the leave no trace principals, how make your own solar oven out of a pizza box, and proper campfire etiquette. Go for a hike at the preserve while recording wildlife and play a leave no trace game. This program will cover requirements for the Eco Camper Badge.

Animal Habitats

Join us for a hike through the woods at Bubolz Nature Preserve. Scouts will go for a hike and explore the woods searching for animals and other winter signs. This hike will cover requirements in the Junior Animal Habitat Badge.

Winter Survival

Put your survival skills to the test! Troops will learn the basics of how to survive and what is needed versus wanted. They will then work together to build shelters and warming fires in an attempt to survive a Wisconsin winter.

Snowshoe Adventure

Scouts will go on a snowshoe adventure. They will learn a little about how they work, collect the proper gear, practice a bit, and then go out on the trails. This program is weather dependent as we need a specific amount of snow.

Maple Syrup

Join us for a hike as we explore Maple Syrup Season in Wisconsin. Scouts will learn the history of maple syrup and how it is done today. You will get a chance to see the process from start to finish including tapping a tree, cooking, and sampling the finished product over ice cream.

GPS/Geocaching

Join us for a GPS and Geocaching adventure. Scouts will learn the basics of geocaching – how it works, what is needed, and then go out on our designed trail in search of caches. This adventure will meet requirements for the Geocaching Badge.
