Explore the preserve during the evening hours! We will learn about the fascinating little bugs that light up our summer nights. Then we’ll go on a night hike throughout the preserve searching for fireflies and other creatures that are active at night.
(There is no guarantee that we will see fireflies.)

Celebrate Earth Day at Bubolz! Each child will have the opportunity to create a pinecone bird feeder and upcycled flower pot inside the nature center. Then we will head to the pond to do some pond dipping and exploration.
Dress for the weather with shoes/boots that can get muddy.

There are no refunds for cancellations. Substitutions are permitted. Refunds will only be offered if Bubolz cancels the event due to low registration.
Come on out to Bubolz for an evening hike, snowshoe, or cross country ski on our 1 mile snowshoe trail or 1.5 mile cross country ski trail. There is no pre-registration for this event. Rentals are on a first come first serve basis and will be determined on snow and trail conditions. Some dates may be modified to a hike.

January 13, 2024 | 12:30 – 2:30 pm: Rescheduled to a Later Date Open to Girl Scouts & Cub Scouts. Scouts will go on a snowshoe adventure. They will learn a little about how they work, collect the proper gear, practice a bit, and then go out on the trails. This program is weather dependent as we need a specific amount of snow. Troop Level: All Cost: $8/Scout & $10/Adults (if adults want to rent snowshoes) Season: Winter Max: 35 scouts (1 or 2 adults per troop)
Stop on in anytime between 9 and 10 am and make holiday crafts at the preserve! Some crafts will be nature based and upcycled. Cost: Individual: $8 Members | $10 Nonmembers Family: $20
Join us for a cherished autumn tradition! Wander the trails while gathering goodies from all the trick-or-treat stations. Take an adventure on a hay wagon ride and venture into the prairie maze. Attend a movie in costume while enjoying popcorn as we transform our lower level into a theater. And of course, don’t miss the chance to win fantastic prizes while donning your Halloween best!
Come out to the preserve and enjoy a snowshoe hike or cross country ski during the evening hours. Both trails will be lit up with luminaries. This event may be cancelled or changed to a hike if there is a lack of snow to rent out equipment.
