Sustainability Series
July 11th |10:00 AM -12:00 PM
Join us on July 11th from 10am-12pm, for a morning of bird fun! Master Naturalist Larry Lobner will lead a presentation and discussion on local birds and the struggles they currently are facing. With an approximate 25% decline in population since the 1970’s, we will take a look at what birds greatest threats are, and how we can help! Following the presentation, we will take a short hike to see what birds are currently calling Bubolz home.
The preserve will have binoculars for use during program time, however supplies are limited. Please bring your own supplies, if you have them- thank you!
Pre-registration is required for this event.
Cost:
$5/person
Kickoff the Summer by Celebrating the Summer Solstice with your family! This event will include various educational pieces such as catching insects at the prairie and pond, as well as tables and presentations from local Wildlife groups. Additionally, we will have games set up for kiddos to win prizes while enjoying popcorn and the official start of the summer season!
Join REI at Bubolz Nature Preserve for a free screening of “Crown Jewels!” The premiere of the new documentary “Crown Jewels,” directed by Alex Haraus, will take place at Bubolz Nature Preserve on September 19th at 5:30 PM. “Crown Jewels” brings viewers to threatened forests in West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Oregon, and explains how people can take action to protect them.
