Winter Programs

Winter Break Camp 2021
Tuesday, December 28th – Thursday, December 30th
9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Snow or no snow many adventures and lots of fun are sure to be had. Activities could include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, GPS, animal tracks, winter survival, games, crafts, and many more. This camp is designed for ages 8 to 12. Come on out and spend winter break exploring the preserve!

Facemasks will be required inside of the building and each family must sign our Covid-19 Waiver.

Cost: Members: $90.00 / Non-members: $105.00
Refunds will only be given if Bubolz cancels the camp.

Dog Sledding – SOLD OUT
Saturday, January 8th
10:00 am & 12:30 pm

Pre-registration and pre-payment is required.
Join Jim Feyen from Siberian Outpost and his dogs as he shares the history of dog sledding, what is needed to run the dogs, and then go for a ride around the prairie. Children under 12 must ride with an adult. Typically, 2 people ride at a time, so we recommend even numbered groups, but it is not required.

At this time the face masks will be required throughout the entire program, both inside and outside.

Cost: $25.00 per person
Refunds will only be given if Bubolz cancels the event.

Candlelight Ski & Snowshoe
Friday, January 14th
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Enjoy the preserve’s 1 mile snowshoe or 1.5 mile ski trail illuminated by candles and moonlight. No pre-registration, arrive any time between 5:00 & 7:00. If there is not enough snow, this event will still take place as a hike.

Facemasks are required when inside the building.

Saturday, February 5th
12:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Join a naturalist for a fun, family friendly cross-country ski lesson. Learn the basics: putting on equipment, falling down and getting up, ski techniques, and stopping. Includes Ski Rental.

If you are registering your child, please make sure that an adult is also registered. Each participant will have some time out on the cross-country ski trails and the trails cannot be walked because they are groomed.

Cost: Members: $15.00 / Non-members: $20.00
There are no refunds for cancellations; substitutes are permitted. Refunds will be issued for programs cancelled by Bubolz due to low registration or lack of snow.
