Join us on July 11th from 10am-12pm, for a morning of bird fun! Master Naturalist Larry Lobner will lead a presentation and discussion on local birds and the struggles they currently are facing. With an approximate 25% decline in population since the 1970’s, we will take a look at what birds greatest threats are, and how we can help! Following the presentation, we will take a short hike to see what birds are currently calling Bubolz home.
The preserve will have binoculars for use during program time, however supplies are limited. Please bring your own supplies, if you have them- thank you!

Join our naturalists for a guided hike to look for springtime phenological happenings at Bubolz! We will discuss the blooming plants, migrating birds, and how our ecosystem is changing as the warmer weather comes to Wisconsin.

Saturday, January 17th, 2026 | 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM Join us for a brat and burger fry in the Great Blue Heron Hall! No registration required and open to the public. The event will feature a full bar, bloody mary’s, brews from local favorites Hop Yard and Stone Arch, raffle prizes, and a 50/50 raffle. Win meat, beverages, and more! Doors open at 10:30 AM. Raffles pull from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Join a naturalist for a fun, family friendly cross-country ski lesson. Learn the basics: putting on equipment, falling down and getting up, ski techniques, and stopping. Includes Ski Rental.
Each participant will have some time out on the cross country ski trails and the trails cannot be walked because they are groomed.

Join us on December 14th for a holiday yoga evening supporting Bubolz—made possible through Megan Biese’s participation in Just Dance: Where Rhythm Meets Reason.
About Megan:
Megan Biese, Director of Marketing for U.S. Energy (a division of U.S. Venture), serves on the Bubolz Board of Directors and is raising funds for the preserve through her involvement in Just Dance, a community event pairing local leaders with professional dancers to support area nonprofits. With U.S. Venture underwriting the entire event, 100% of Megan’s fundraising goes directly to Bubolz’s mission of conservation, education, and connection to nature. This yoga program is one of the special ways Megan is supporting that effort.
About Kelly:
Kelly Ellington is a lifelong educator and advocate for accessibility and equity in wellness spaces. Along with coaching girls cross country and track at Neenah High School, she teaches multiple yoga classes each week and is dedicated to making yoga welcoming and realistic for everyone.
About the Event:
The holiday season can be hectic, so we’re creating space to slow down. Join us for a calming, grounding yoga practice in the lower level of our nature center, overlooking the peaceful winter landscape. After class, enjoy light, cozy refreshments as we gather in community.
All proceeds support Bubolz, thanks to Megan’s Just Dance fundraising efforts.

Join us as we travel on over to Broken Tree Pizza in Appleton for a Tap Talk! Next week Tuesday, our naturalist team will be giving a presentation about the environmental issues our community is facing, specifically around generative AI. With the rise of AI in our lives, we want to educate on the harmful impact it can have and how we can manage these resources sustainably and prioritize our native ecosystems! We hope to see you there!

Participants will explore renewable energy sources at the preserve. They will learn about the state-of-the-art Microgrid and its ability to produce, store and manage clean energy. The participants will explore various sources of energy through hands on experiments with solar and wind.

Join us for a day of winter break at Bubolz! We will have indoor and outdoor activities throughout the day. Some of these activities could include: snowshoeing, hiking searching for animal tracks and signs, winter survival, games, crafts, and more!
