Join us as we learn about the animals that call Bubolz their home. We will explore pelts and skulls of mammals and go for a hike throughout the different habitats searching for homes along the way. We will even make a small animal home and put our skills to the test.

Participants will go on a snowshoe adventure. They will learn a little about how snowshoes work, collect the proper gear, practice a bit, and then go out on the trails. This program is weather dependent as we need a specific amount of snow.

Winter Survival

Put your survival skills to the test! Groups will learn the basics of how to survive and what is needed versus wanted. They will then work together to build shelters and warming fires in an attempt to survive a Wisconsin winter.

Join us for a GPS and Geocaching adventure. Participants will learn the basics of geocaching – how it works, what is needed, and then go out on our designed trail in search of caches.

Become a steward of the earth by learning how to respect nature and protect the environment for today and for tomorrow! We will learn about the leave no trace principals, practice them while taking a hike learning about native plants and animals, and end with learning how to safely build a campfire.

Morning Yoga in the Pines

Join instructor Lauren from Grace Under Fire Yoga Studio for a morning of relaxing yoga in the Pines! From 9am – 10 am, Instructor Lauren will guide you through a yoga session, before Bubolz staff invites everyone to light refreshments and conversation to cool down and enjoy the beautiful Pines. Please bring your own yoga mat, water bottle, and towel (if hot outside). Bug spray is recommended, however yoga will be located in the shade, so use sunscreen as needed. Forest Therapy with One Tree Forest

Join Kristen Roman – Founder and Guide of One Tree Forest Therapy- a Certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT).
Forest Therapy, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing), is a research-supported practice that invites participants into a mindful, relational experience with nature. Programs are designed to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being while fostering ecological awareness and stewardship.

This program will consist of an introduction to Forest Therapy, in a small intimate group of 15 participants. The program will last 2-3 hours, involving both indoor and outdoor segments. The program will conclude with a tea ceremony before departure.

Mycology Hike

Join our naturalists and Associate Professor Lisa Grubisha of UW-Green Bay for our second mycology hike at Bubolz! Lisa Grubisha, Associate Professor and Chair of Applied Biotechnology at UW-Green Bay, will be leading a discussion and guided hike at Bubolz Nature Preserve to discuss the morphology of fungi. We will take a close look at some of the various types of fungi found around the preserve as we hike!
