Girl Scouts: Snowshoe: RESCHEDULED

Due to the lack of snow this program has been rescheduled. Scouts will go on a snowshoe adventure. They will learn a little about how they work, collect the proper gear, practice a bit, and then go out on the trails. This program is weather dependent as we need a specific amount of snow.

Put your survival skills to the test! Troops will learn the basics of how to survive and what is needed versus wanted. They will then work together to build shelters and warming fires in an attempt to survive a Wisconsin winter.

Join us for a hike through the woods and prairies at Bubolz Nature Preserve. Scouts will go for a hike and explore searching for animals and other winter signs. This hike will cover requirements in the Junior Animal Habitat Badge.

Owl Prowl

Join us as we learn more about owls of Wisconsin. We will begin with a short presentation with a live owl demonstration and dissection of owl pellets. This will be followed by a night hike to look for owls and learn more about their adaptations.

Girl Scouts: Eco Camper

Come to Bubolz and learn how to respect nature and protect the environment while on a future camping trip. Learn the leave no trace principals, how make your own solar oven out of a pizza box, and proper campfire etiquette. Go for a hike at the preserve while recording wildlife and play a leave no trace game. This program will cover requirements for the Eco Camper Badge.

Cost: $8/Scout or sibling
Max: 25 scouts (1 or 2 adults per troop)

Learn how to treat outdoor spaces with kindness and respect as you complete this badge! Complete an Eco Hike, learn about the leave no trace principals and how to respect wildlife, and discover different ways to be kind to others while you are in the outdoors. Finish the program by learning how to build a safe campfire. This program will cover requirements for the Eco Friend Badge.
