Summer is well underway, and we have been having a lot of fun here at Bubolz.  Summer campers have been filling the woods with joy and laughter.  Campers of all ages have been catching bugs, learning the difference between toads and frogs, making art projects, building shelters and fires to cook their own meals.

We had our #NeedForNature challenge, which encouraged families to get out and come to the preserve to enjoy nature.  Families checked in on Facebook with our # and shared great pictures of all of the fun they had!  Ryan Delrow and Lindsay Wellerman were selected as the winners for a free family membership at Bubolz for a year.  Nikke Soni was the winner of the Mini Family Photo Session donated by Holly Schauland Photography!

We are currently in the middle of our Need for Nature Scavenger Hunt at Bubolz.  We offered free water bottles with some turtle food for the first 25 families who signed up and all 25 spots were gone in 2 hours.  So far 65 families have signed up for the free scavenger hunt.  You can still sign up for this fun free family activity by clicking the link below!

Wedding Venue Dates Still Available in 2020

Do you know anyone who is looking for a venue for their 2020 wedding?  We realize that some people have had to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic.  Whether your old venue isn’t re-opening, can’t accommodate all of your guest or simply doesn’t have an opening for a date that works for you, we are here to help.  Call to talk to our event staff, Miranda and Jenni, to see if we have availability for your date.

As the country has begun loosening it’s restrictions on public gatherings, Bubolz has opened back up for private event rentals. We are putting a number of safety measures in place to do our best to ensure the health and safety of our staff and guests.

  • All staff members are wearing face masks
  • We are cleaning and sanitizing surfaces more frequently
  • We are keeping The Lodge closed to the public, allowing only private rentals to have access to the building
  • We are recommending all event attendees wear face masks
  • We are taking temperature checks of all staff and also event attendees at the door
  • We have installed sneeze guards on the bars
  • We have lowered our maximum capacities, following the WEDC recommendations for social distancing
    • Tables spaced 6’ apart
    • No more than 6 people at a table

Connor’s Corner

Hello, and welcome to my corner! I know storm damage cleanup is the last thing that you want to be thinking about this summer, but it is important that you be prepared to avoid frustration. To insure optimal performance, clean debris from the saw after each use. Running a dirty saw restricts airflow and cooling performance and the saw can turn hot quickly. After each use, I always clean the air filter by blowing it out with an air compressor. I also like to slide a credit card through the guide of the bar to remove gunk. Keep a sharp chain, refill bar oil after every tank of gas, and flip the bar after every sharpening to even out wear. Most importantly, practice safe cutting!

Corporate Meetings and Events

Are you looking for a space to have your corporate meeting or event besides your workplace?  Step out of the office and into nature.  At Bubolz we have seven private event spaces that are available for booking.  We can accommodate groups of 4-250(currently reduced due to Covid 19 and social distancing).  When you have your meeting or event at Bubolz you are helping support our mission to connect kids to nature.  Studies have proven that nature inspires innovation.  Bubolz Nature Center will help to bring your team together and will inspire better outcomes than any other venue.
